Reset and Rebuild — Duckett’s Return to Nottinghamshire Could Be Perfect Timing

Though by his standards it wasn't the greatest of winter's for Ben Duckett, there is a feeling he has enough credit in the bank to concentrate on his game rather than worry for his place. By staying at home and forgoing the IPL riches, can his time back in domestic cricket, be a mini reset for the England opener.

For Ben Duckett, the winter didn’t quite unfold as planned. There were moments on the pitch, as there often are with a player of his quality, but overall it felt like a period where things never fully clicked. Not disastrous, not defining—but just enough to leave a sense that more was there.

Of course, much of the noise surrounding the left-hander over the winter wasn't because of his cricket bat, but what happened off the pitch in Noosra, when the chance for some down time between Tests didn't exactly go to plan.

To his credit, he held his hands up that these weren't the actions that were required "It all happened and I think I held my hands up since then and it's not something that any professional sportsman should be doing.

"Ultimately we were having a break that was planned before the series, if we're winning that series its probably not news, but we shouldn't be putting yourself in a position like that.
