On a day at Emirates Old Trafford, where patience was the order of the day, The Blaze sealed a T20 double, winning the Vitality T20 Cup to go alongside the Vitality Blast they secured at The Oval at the end of July.
It seemed optimistic when it was announced that the officials wanted to ensure that both semi-finals and the final took place in one form or another.
The semi-final was reduced to a five-over-a-side game, and having won the toss and put Essex into bat, The Blaze restricted them to 44 for three before Emma Jones blasted a 12-ball 21 to make sure of progress to the final with nine balls to spare.
