The Blaze v Lancashire – Metro Bank One Day Cup – 15 April Early test awaits as hosts look to avenge 2025 defeats

Lancashire proved to be a tough nut to crack for The Blaze last year, beating them in both the County Cup semi-final and the Metro Bank One Day Cup. The latter was a five-run loss, a result that The Blaze looked to have in the bag for a long time.

The Blaze have had a productive off-season. They have recruited Emma Jones from Surrey, who brings added firepower to the middle order.

They may have lost Sarah Glenn to Yorkshire, where she is likely to have greater opportunities with the bat, but it could be the right time to give Josie Groves more responsibility. The young leg-spinner spent the winter in Australia and will be pushing for a bigger role.
