Trent Rockets made up for an opening-day defeat at Edgbaston to Birmingham Phoenix with a three-wicket win at Trent Bridge against London Spirit in a mixed start to their campaign.
In the opening game, the Rockets nearly chased down 215, eventually losing by just ten runs. It is a testament to the Rockets' top order, with Ben Duckett’s 49 from 25 balls being the slowest innings in terms of strike rate.
It was his Nottinghamshire teammate Joe Clarke who ensured Phoenix put a sizeable total on the board. His 68 came from just 33 balls in half an hour of power-hitting that the Trent Bridge faithful haven’t seen enough of this season.
