Centuries from Kathryn Bryce and Georgia Elwiss helped The Blaze to a convincing win at Trent Bridge, marking the return of the Metro Bank One Day Cup. With Hampshire snapping at the East Midlands-based side, it was important to put in the sort of performance that showed they weren’t finished with the silverware hunt. The Blaze beat Durham by 59 runs in a rain-affected game.
Asked to bat first, The Blaze scored the second-highest score in the competition this season, only eclipsed by Surrey’s 389 for 9 at Edgbaston against Warwickshire.
Kathryn Bryce scored 136, and Georgia Elwiss added 134 runs of her own as the pair combined to put The Blaze firmly ahead in the game.
