McCann shines as Outlaws boost knockout hopes with win over Northamptonshire

Freddie McCann continued his outstanding Metro Bank One-Day Cup campaign with a superb 91 as Nottinghamshire claimed a crucial six-wicket victory over Northamptonshire at Queen's Park, Chesterfield.
Playing at the picturesque Derbyshire outground, the Outlaws produced an accomplished all-round display, restricting Northamptonshire to 259 for eight before chasing down their target of 260 with 20 balls to spare to keep their hopes of reaching the knockout stages firmly alive.
After Northants elected to bat, the Outlaws attack never allowed Northamptonshire to completely take control despite several useful contributions throughout the innings. Luke Procter made 53 at the top of the order, while captain Nathan McSweeney (49), George Bartlett (55) and Rob Keogh (33) all threatened to push the visitors towards a bigger total.
