County Championship Leicestershire Team Profile

The Foxes are back in the big time for the first time in over 20 years after last season's Division Two County Championship title. There biggest challenge is to remain in Division One but they do they have enough to do so or are they destined to go back down?

Can the Foxes keep their momentum from last season's title-winning Division Two Championship or will it be a battle to maintain their place amongst the game's elite teams.

Squad Overview

Leicestershire have bolstered the depth of their squad with some very experienced players to hopefully avoid a return straight back to Division Two and if they can carry on that momentum from last season, there is nothing to say they can't keep themselves comfortably safe.

Their batting is improving all the time, starting with the openers Sol Budinger and Rishi Patel who just need to keep adding that consistency and getting the Foxes off to a good start. Losing Peter Handscomb is a blow but that has been softened by the seemingly astute replacement in Jake Weatherald. The rest of the middle-order are experienced and will power them through.
