The disappointment of Finals Day will linger for a while at Trent Bridge. Nottinghamshire travelled to Edgbaston believing they had every chance of lifting another Vitality Blast trophy.
After another outstanding group campaign and an impressive quarter-final victory over Surrey, there was genuine optimism that Peter Moores' side could add another piece of silverware to a trophy cabinet that looks like the normal rather than the potential.
