After a season in which, before this week, The Blaze had lost only two matches, they suffered two deflating Vitality Blast defeats to Surrey and Durham.
Things started well last Sunday when The Blaze beat Essex by nine wickets to secure a bonus-point victory in what looked likely to be their final match without their Scottish contingent.
