Every unbeaten run has to end eventually, and after going more than a year without tasting defeat in the County Championship, Nottinghamshire finally found themselves on the wrong side of the result at Trent Bridge.

A 306-run loss to Somerset was comprehensive on paper, but it also raised some interesting questions about where the reigning champions are as they head into the second half of the season.
