It was always going to come. The Blaze picked up a six-wicket victory, spearheaded in the chase by the experienced Tammy Beaumont and Georgia Elwiss, who shared a 131 partnership for the third wicket.
This victory cements The Blaze’s position at the top of the Metro Bank One Day Cup standings.
Having put the hosts Somerset in at Exmouth, The Blaze restricted their opponents to 222 for nine. Anika Learoyd, the Australian overseas player, was the top scorer for Somerset with 97 before she was caught and bowled by Kathryn Bryce.
