The Blaze got off to a winning start in the Metro Bank One Day Cup with a six-run win on the DLS method, as thunder and lightning put an end to any further play with the game in the balance, but with The Blaze just in front.

The Blaze were persistent in the field, and Grace Ballinger was the pick of the bowlers with three for 30.
With heavy rain showers forecast for the early evening, The Blaze needed to stay ahead of the DLS, which they did. The first time they went off, they were two runs in front.
