Ben Slater's first-innings 178 set Nottinghamshire on their way to 23 points in the East Midlands derby at Grace Road as they overcame Leicestershire to move into top spot in the Division One of the County Championship.

Slater's almost faultless innings allowed Notts to post an imposing total after being put into bat and they backed it up with the ball, with Olly Stone the pick of the bowlers with figures of 8-109 across both innings, whilst Liam Patterson-Whites second innings 5-53 was a welcome performance.
