The Blaze return to Metro Bank One Day Cup duty with a significant lead at the top of the table. This next month will be a busy and difficult one for the team from Trent Bridge.
Nine points clear of Hampshire in second place and ten points clear of Surrey, who they play this weekend, they return to the longest form of the women’s domestic game with a nice cushion but missing key players.
Both teams will be understrength, with each side missing players on international duty at the T20 World Cup that kicked off last night, as they take on Surrey at Beckenham.
In the reverse fixture, The Blaze ran out victors by five wickets. Georgia Elwiss stared with the bat, helping herself to an unbeaten 76 in what proved to be a comfortable win to see The Blaze start to put some distance between them and the chasing pack.
