The Blaze v Yorkshire – Metro Bank One Day Cup – 18 April The Blaze go to Yorkshire confident of picking up the points

The Blaze started their Metro Bank One Day Cup campaign with a six-run win against last season’s champions, Lancashire, at Trent Bridge.

It has been a quick turnaround with a trip to Headingley to take on newcomers to Tier One Yorkshire.

Yorkshire were the eventual champions of Tier Two last season but only finished fourth in the group stage. The main talking point from Yorkshire’s loss on Wednesday was the dismissal of Lauren Winfield-Hill, who was given out to a delivery that seemed to strike her in the face rather than clip her bat. The fallout from that was that Yorkshire were penalised five runs.
