Kirstie Gordon spoke to The Trent about what is set to be an eventful year, with a return to international cricket for Scotland to come alongside another big season for The Blaze after last year’s semi-final disappointment.

“I come in quite a lot on my days off, and I look around sometimes and think it’s just the best place ever. To be able to say you work here. We speak about that a lot as a group how fortunate we are to call this place our home.”

For the final year, the team will go by the name The Blaze as Nottinghamshire moves towards aligning the identities of the men’s and women’s sides, something new CEO Richard Kenyon has recently said will happen.

“I think we’ll be sad in sentiment to lose The Blaze, but moving forward in 10, 15, 20 years, it will make sense that it’s one club. We appreciate that being aligned and being one club is the best direction for us moving forward.”
